5 Secret Waterfalls That Aren't Sgwd yr Eira

Everyone floods to Sgwd yr Eira (and fair enough, walking behind a waterfall is pretty special), but the Brecon Beacons - or Bannau Brycheiniog as it's properly known - hide dozens of cascades that most tourists never see.

1. Sgwd Einion Gam

Just a 20-minute walk from the Pontneddfechan car park, this horseshoe-shaped falls is often empty even when the main trail is packed.

2. Henrhyd Falls

At 27 meters, it's the tallest waterfall in South Wales. You might recognize it from The Dark Knight Rises.

3. Sgwd Gwladys (Lady Falls)

A bit of a scramble to reach, but the amphitheater of rock around the pool makes it feel like your own private swimming hole.

4. Melincourt Falls

Hidden in the Vale of Neath, this 24-meter cascade is said to have inspired J.M.W. Turner.

5. Pistyll Rhaeadr

Okay, this one's in North Wales not the Beacons, but at 73 meters it's the highest single-drop waterfall in Wales and absolutely worth the drive.
